Significance Of ACCA Approved Employer

Significance of ACCA Approved Employer Status

The ACCA Approved Employer programme recognizes employers’ high standards of staff training, accountancy resources and development for their ACCA members:

ACCA Approved Employer status:

·  Provides formal recognition that our organization is committed to providing learning and development opportunities to our staff- which will enhance our organization’s reputation as an employer.

·  Provides an accessible global standard which enables organizations to compare their learning and development support against a global benchmark, enhancing our brand.

·  Provides fast-track specific ACCA business process- our trainees and/or members can benefit.

·  Can help us bring talented people into our organization.

In summary, the Approved Employer programme provides an overall framework within which ACCA can help to support our organization’s trainees and members.

Approved Employer Programme Streams

The ACCA Approved Employer programme has three streams:

Trainee development

By joining this stream an organization can get recognition for its existing in-house training and is able to simplify its ACCA trainees membership application process.

Professional development

By joining this stream an organization is able to support the continuing professional development (CPD) of its qualified finance professionals.

Practising certificate development

This stream enables an organization to train ACCA staff for practising certificates.

Trainee Development Matrix (TDM)

Under ACCA’s Practical Experience Requirement (PER), trainees are expected to record workplace achievements, using the Trainee Development Matrix (TDM), declaring the progress they have made in the period towards meeting the PER.

As an ACCA Approved Employer-trainee development, at platinum level, Smith and Associates has shown that our ACCA trainees already participate in our organization’s own performance and development system. Accordingly, our ACCA trainees are not required to complete the TDM, unless we would prefer to retain this requirement. Alternatively, we can advise ACCA if we wish for our trainees to complete the TDM, rather than claiming the exemption.
